Because we fought a war against unfair taxation a little over 200 years ago!

So now we pay taxes on what we EARN (income tax) and pay tax on what we BUY (sales tax) and pay tax on our assets when we DIE (estate taxes).........

Because that's the law!

If you think it's bad in the US, move to Europe. They pay up to double what we pay.
