Re this question I have found the answer in Windows XP Troubleshooting in easy steps book
Go to Start, Control Panel, and System, click the advanced tab, under start up and recovery click Error reporting.
In the Error Reporting dialog box, tick Disable error reporting Click OK
It worked for me, no more annoying messages. Thanks to everyone who replied to me

Windows XP comes with Internet Explorer 6. Microsoft has made IE part of the core operating system. If you think IE is screwed up, and want to repair it, you must use the sfc command:
Start > Run, copy & paste > Sfc /scannow & press Enter.
http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html
This will scan and restore protected system files ( which IE is )

i had that a while ago. what i did was i got myself a external hard drive from the shop and plugged it into my usb port. i then saved all my files (music, videos etc) to the external hardrive, turned off my pc and unplugged the ex hardrive so all my stuff was stored on there, then turned my pc back on and then reset it to factory settings. that way all my stuff was saved on the external hardrive without losing everything. at the time i got a 80gb hard drive for £60. once all tis is done, install your ani virus software etc first before you internet connection etc. that way you will not get anymore problems ever and your pc and internet will be much faster too. i was also told by some pc companys that frequently reseting my pc to factory settings is very good for your pc and makes it last so much longer. i do this every 2 months. all my stuff gets stored on the external hard drive so nothing is lost

You've been affected by a virus . when the window appears and said your windows needs to restart, Go to RUN and type
shutdown -a ( put SPACE between "shutdown" and "-a" .

Now open a web-based antivirus and Scan your computer Or the better way is that you install a antivirus for it.

The same thing happened to me, I had to take it to a shop to get it fixed. I was told it was due to a virus i had as well as the fact that there was so much spyware on my computer. My only suggestion would be to take it to an expert. Good luck!

Well, you are going to have to give us the exact error it gives you.

I mean word for word.

It could be a simple memory dump or it could be the blaster worm. Without more details I can't tell you what your problem is.
