I currently live in Virginia Beach, VA, where I was born and raised. In about six months, my husband and I are planning to move to Corpus Christi, TX, which is where he was born and raised. I visited Corpus briefly, but want to know more about the day-today life there. How do the two cities compare? In your opinion, which is better?

im from texas and im not a huge fan of corpus, but i suppose if you like the coast life its not bad. i would reccommend rockport over corpus anyday though. if you have children you should probably take that into consideration because everyone ive ever met from corpus said they really didnt like growing up there. its just not a very clean, nice place. but i suppose if you can find a good area then you'll be able to enjoy it. oh, and as a tip, if you want to find a good beach go to padre island drive and drive north on it until it ends. you'll see a beach with white sand and clear water...very uncommon in corpus.

good luck!

I've never been to Virginia Beach, but I live in Corpus and it seems to be improving, city wise. The city is really expanding in the south side of town (plenty of resturants, new apts and a hospital) If you travel down SPID (south padre island drive) there are lots of resturants and the mall. Cole park (near the bayfront) just got a brand new skate park and there's a nice stretch of track if you like to go running, jogging, biking or whatever. You have 2 colleges Del Mar College and Texas State University Corpus Christi. Traffic is usually heaving around 5-6 a.m.,8-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. Downtown has a few night clubs and resturants and the tourist section with the harbor playhouse, museums, watergardens, texas state aquarium, american bank center, the uss lexington. Also if you're a baseball fan the CC Hooks often has home games in season. Those are fun! Okay I'm gonna stop now... good luck.
