Your kidding, right? The Niners have a great nucleus of young players in Alex Smith, Frank Gore, and Vernon Davis, and their defense just got 10 times better with the signings of Nate Clements and Michael Lewis! The Raiders, meanwhile, have the first overall pick in the NFL Draft, and although they DO have some nice players of their own to build around (like Michael Huff and Kirk Morrison), they don't have the nucleus that the 49ers have!

Besides, who would you rather have as head coach: Mike Nolan or Lane Kiffin? I'll take Nolan any day!

I say the 49ers will surprise everybody next year by winning the NFC West!

Wow...the Niners, by far, both historically and now. The fact that the Raiders have the first pick in the draft should tell you something, and they have so many problems internally with Randy Moss and Jerry Porter. Even though they are pretty much guaranteed JaMarcus Russell with the first pick, he's 10 pounds overweight and isn't tough enough to play at the next level.

When you think 49ers, how can you not think of the greats: Montana, Rice, Young, even the Dwight Smith catch to ice the Super Bowl? This is a team that was in the playoff race until the end of last season, and at the rate that Alex Smith is developing, this team has the potential to be very good for a long time. They also have the running game, as Frank Gore established himself as a top 5 back during last season - can the Raiders say that?

The 49ers have a chance for the playoffs next year in a depleted NFC, while the Raiders won't be in for quite a while in a strong AFC. Go with the Niners on this one.

Anyone who says the Raiders is a confused lunatic. The Raiders rush defense stinks, and calling their offense anemic would be a complement. Even with the potential addition of Calvin Johnson or JaMarcus Russell, they still lack an offensive line, and Joe Thomas won't go first. The Raiders pass defense was respectable, but the yardage allowed is misleading because teams run the heck out of their pitiful defense.

That said, the 49ers are building something very solid. They were a couple games away from a playoff spot this year. The defense isn't great, but Manny Lawson was a good pick from NC State last year, and they are building a solid team. Alex Smith is a future great QB from Utah, and Frank Gore has blossomed into a fantastic RB. Vernon Davis is a freak of nature at TE. Their O-Line is solid, not great, but solid. If SF can pick up an O-Lineman in round 1 and then a couple D-Lineman or Linebackers later on in the draft, they could challenge for the division title.

Oh, by the way, I'm impartial... Colts fan.

Raiders are huge bruisers yet continuously in flux, there is not any consistency Al Davis is bat **** loopy and he has introduced the raiders down from there previous glory. they have an outstanding team and a extra useful checklist yet its nevertheless 8-8. The raiders have gamers which could be super in the event that they lived as much as there draft place yet Al continuously reaches for those gamers that have super velocity or length yet might not be the wonderful participant. they have super historic previous yet 49ers have super persons, the wonderful youthful linebacker interior the sport and a stud at tight-end. they have not any actual long term QB answer different than kapernic and he will take a little time to advance. They overpaid at nook and function not been gamers in attempting to get extra useful. the two communities are a number of products far off from being something. The 49ers are in a unfavorable branch so as that works in there desire and the raiders have a number of playoff contenders in there branch so there direction would be harder. i think the RAIDERS are extra useful and gets respectable until now the 9ers ever do however the 49ers might have a extra useful checklist because of the rubbish branch there in.

The niners. If you go by history or by the team going into this season either way there is no comparison. Only people who will think about the Raiders are their fans and hell half of them will admit the niners are better.

The Niners. That is very obvious. The 49ers are a couple of offseason moves away from being playoff contenders/division champions. They have a ton of cap money, and they probably will sign coveted LB Adalius Thomas. They pick 11th, which should land them the secondary help they need or defensive line help they need. The Raiders are at least a year away, probably two, and thats only because of their highly ranked defense.
