because happiness is not always a question of utility and we dont all live perfect, happy, carefree lives. A poor man in deperate need may be "better off" by selling a part of his liver, but the law says he can't, because if we allowed him to make such a transaction it would be highly unethical and generally detrimental to society. Basically, its an ethics question call. You can ask by the same reasoning: why do we not allow prostetution? After all the woman/man is happy to have sex for money, and the guy (lets face it its always a guy) is happy to pay the money to get the "services", but we dont allow for that kind of transaction because we believe that (a) such a transaction exploits the prostitute (b) it is unethical to sell ones body. The same applies to organ transplants.

Mostly because of all the criminal activity. There have been cases where a person has been kidnapped, taken away, sedated, and an organ removed. If there's a buck to be made, believe me these scum bags will do anything for a dollar.

It should not. And stories of kidnapping and organ stealing are bogus. You got a better chance of getting hit by a meteor and a train at the same time.
