Quality and price, combined. If you offer a good price and have a good reputation, you are going to be my first choice. If 2 companies have good reps and one is a lot cheaper than the other, I'll go with the cheapest. But, if 1 has a good rep and the cheaper one doesn't, it's the shop with the good rep who wins every time.

There are only two BMW service/dealerships in town, and I chose the one recommended by the former owner.
There are independents who do BMW service, but without a personal recommendation, I'd be a bit nervous.

My hubby's cousin owns an auto body shop, another cousin that works there is a mechanic (good one), so if I need any thing done, that's where I go.....
