Enough about T-Mac's back problems. People got to stop using that as an excuse to write off T-Mac. Nash isn't that healthy and dependable either and people call him the best right now. Heck, Dwayne's prolly out for the entire season.

Thats just plain dumb. Someone called Dwayne Wade an elite player because he won a championship with Shaq by his side.

Oh yea. Antoine Walker won a championship too, does that make him an elite player? plain stupidity.

Tracy McGrady is the 2nd most talented player in the NBA and a very good decision maker for his size and position. It's true: last year he only played 47 gamesbut however he has already equaled that total and today is the last day of feburary. And the year before that in 04-05 he played 78 games. This year he has only missed 9.

I don't think it is fair to say T-Mac doesn't know how to win. It's true that he has never been an MVP, but besides 04-05 he has never been on a great team.
His statline this year: 24.6 points, 6.1 assists, 5.2 rebounds, 1.2 steals, and 2 threes a game. He is also shooting 44% from the floor while only playing 35 min a game. All the other highly touted players( Wade, Nash, Dirk) have great players supporting players, especially in the Suns case cus those guys are freaks. Otherwise, T-Mac does make his team better because they win. Without Yao. Amazing for the 6th best team in the NBA. Back Spasms? Those days are probably over.

People who think T-MAC isn't elite are idiots. I mean what more does an athlete have to do to get recognition. 1 on 1 T-Mac could outplay anybody in this league. He is also a better team player. If you think T-MAC sucks you should give up basketball critiquing and the rest of the sport. If you think you know basketball, then remember this next statement. T-MAC = NBA MVP

by elite it implies being one of the top 10 players in the league. yes, he started in the all-star game, but T-Mac fails to:

1) dominate games regularly - yes, he scores in bunches, but he doesn't take over on a nightly basis. he had that amazing comeback vs. san antonio two years back, but it's just not consistent enough. he takes nights off, unfortunately. elite players do not. see: Drik Nowitzki, Dwyane Wade.

2) make his teammates better - this is why steve nash and now kobe bryant are considered elite. t-mac thrives off of the lack of production around him by hoisting more shots. he gets better, but his teammates don't.

3) he hasn't won anything - basically i'm saying he's not a "winner". he hasn't gone deep in the playoffs, and before this year, the Rockets were an after-thought in the West. They're always "supposed" to be good, but they come up short of expectations.

t-mac has the skills to put houston on his back. he just needs the other intangibles to bring it all together and be considered elite.

1) Nash IS dependable, he had just taken off a few games to recover from an inflamed shoulder. that doesn't make him not dependable. Tmac's problems in his back come and go at random times making HIM undependable.

2) Tmac is an elite player. people who actually watch the NBA know he is an elite player who has a career 14,700+ points and counting.

3) the difference between Tmac and Nash is that Nash doesnt put his team on his back and try to win, like tmac does. Nash lifts his teammates up. Tmac is just a scoring machine, but an elite scoring machine nonetheless.

He plays in houston, which is a small market. He creats no controversy. He is not a game dominator. he is a great player, but hes just not one of the elite guys. He has taken his teams no where..not a loser but can you call him a winner?

i agree. mac is the top 5 talent wise, and top 2 funnest to watch. but i think why they leave him off is because he has not been as productive winner as they know he can be. t-mac still has alot to prove, and i think he will when everything is said and done.
