Who picked the fight? Was it him or you. Either way don't go. He's a teacher, an adult to say the least... he should be the one setting the right example. You not going means you are making the right choice by not stooping down on his level. A teacher should teach the right things in any circumstance. Not pick a fight.

That would be a crime unless it is a sanctioned match (which it isn't going to be) and he could go to jail for a long time assaulting a minor.
He ain't that stupid and you should be ashamed to sit there and put down any teacher even in joking here in a category where most anything goes. I just wanted to defend the teachers is all.
Try another silly question.

Not unless you bring your parents and the principal.
You are obviously leaving out the entire background and circumstances, regardless, a teacher threatening a student like this is NEVER acceptable.
Talk to your parents or, at the very least, an adult you trust. Someone HAS to go to the principal, too.
Be the man this teacher is not!

I think you need to tell your parents & have him reported to the principal & the school board. No teacher should threaten physical harm. If you teacher feels you need discipline he needs to send you to the office or have you suspended. Being a teacher is difficult & some students can make it pure Hades, that is still no reason to ask someone in your care to fight.

If the teacher meant to spar at the YMCA or other organization, that's acceptable. If you mean brawling in the alley, he's a moron but could still probably whoop you before going to jail.

only if you think you can win. But I find that it's almost impossible to win a fight with a teacher. They're so stuck up. (no offense to teachers)

Absolutely NOT.
This is ABUSE by your idiot teacher - turn his butt in.
(Yes, it's abuse just to try to fight a student.)
You're going to get lots of answers - but if you lose, it will be somewhat more difficult to turn him in (the teacher will say it's just your pride. I guess it's still an option though) If you win, he WILL make your life at school MISERABLE (you know that's true!)
Don't do it - bust him.

only if you can win. If you can't, report him to the principal. Do you mean like a boxing or MMA match up, where you'll shake hands and be friends again afterward, or do you mean one of you wants to kick the other's teeth down their throat?

No way. If that really happened, and I doubt that it did, your teacher is breaking the law and should be reported to school authorities. If, however, you are 18, beat him senseless.
