Assuming they use the same conectors.

1) Disconnet your PC from the power.
2) Put your pc where you can work comfotably like on a sturdy table.
3) Open it up.
4) Touch themetal case to discharge any static electricity. Do this often and try not todrag your feet on the carpet. Note that it has to be plain metal not the painted case. If you can hold on t the metal even better or buy a grounding strap.

5) Look for your hard drive. You will see a connector to it. Follow those connectors and thee should be an exta one that look just like it.
6) connect your old hardrive in that other connector. Remember to hook up the power cable too.
7) put the hard drive where you can close the case or turn onyour computer while on the table. The old harddrive should be located when you open My compter. Same as when you want to open the C:\ deive or the c drives. Just click your way trough it and copy paste.

Trouble shooting.

1) If this didn't work then look at your old hardrive. You will see a diagram with some jumers. Move the jumpers on te back of the old hard drive to slave mode. Connect and try again.

2) Sometimes the hard drive won't be recognised. There is a way to force to be recognized. This kind of problems occur when the drive letter changes. I ran into this problem when using an USB key. The letter changed for some reason from E:\ to Z:\ and that caused problems. You should research disk management on yahoo or google. Tread carefully in these waters.

To open it up open a comand prompt. Is under START>>PROGRAM>>ASSESORIES>>COMAND PROMPT
type: compmgmt.msc and press enter.
navigate your way to where it says disk management. This is as far as I can take it. Maybe follow a tutorial if you follow this route.

Good luck.

The Slave is the middle and the grasp is on the tip of the cable. maximum Drives come production facility set to CS (Cable opt for) so which you may desire to first attempt switching the drives on the cable to get the working gadget because of the fact the grasp force (end of the cable) accompanied by utilising the 2nd slave force or storage force in the midst of the cable. If that would not remedy the undertaking then you could could desire to manually replace the jumper putting on the HD's for grasp and slave. be advantageous you preserve your force with the traditional working gadget on it because of the fact the grasp force. The grasp force gets checked for an os first and the laptop will assume the slave is a storage force so this is significant to have the working gadget on the grasp force. there is pins on the returned of the force, this is fairly rapidly forward. additionally you will have extra then one working gadget on the comparable laptop. this would possibly not reason your laptop to no longer boot up. what is going to take place in a case like it is the working gadget will frequently boot from the grasp force. in case you may desire to take place to have 2 working structures on the grasp force in say 2 partitions then you would be brought about which working gadget you need besides. stable success.

Did you set the C: drive to master and the D: drive to slave?
