My husband and I have decided for the time being we dont wanna know the sex of our baby. My mom was telling about little silly tests to determine the sex? However she never told me what the Draino test was. I dont know how to do it and would like to do it with my husband. If anyone knows what this test is or any other ones please let me know. I wanna have some sorta fun with the husband! Thanks everyone!

Haha I did it both times I was expecting and surprisingly the out come was correct whether it was coincidence or not I don't know.The way you do it is you pee in a cup and add a cap full of Draino,if there is absolutely no reaction the sex of your child is a boy,and if it bubbles or fizzes even slightly your expecting a girl.The first time I did it,a friend of mine did it also and hers bubbled a little and mine remained still and she had a girl I had a boy!!Good Luck!!

I have read the other answers and I have never heard of anything having to do w/ the color changing?When I did it we just used original Draino,I learned the idea from watching a Baby Story on TLC!Either way good luck!!

Ive provided some sites that are fun ways to determine the sex of your baby even though they are old wives tales.

The Drano Test: The color change displayed by a mixture of Drano and urine from a pregnant woman will predict the sex of the unborn child. Warning: Do NOT try this! Very harmful fumes result!

Those who swear by the Drano test (and there are many) will loudly assert that their particular combination of resultant colors is the right one. According to the varying theorists:

Green = boy
Red = girl Green = boy
Yellow = girl
Green = boy
Brown = girl Brown = boy
Green = girl
Brownish = boy
No change = girl Black = boy
Blue = girl
Blue = boy
Yellow = girl Blue = boy
Green = girl
Bluish yellow = boy
Greenish brown = girl

As should be obvious from the table above, there is no one "right" key to interpreting the possible color combinations. Brown, for instance, could indicate a boy or a girl, depending upon whose key is used.

Other tests:

Dangling a Pin: A pin or needle affixed to a piece of thread is dangled over the expectant woman's wrist. If the pin swings back and forth, it's a boy. If it twirls in circles, it's a girl. Some suggest using a nail instead of a pin. Some say the pin or nail should dangle over the mother's stomach instead of her wrist.

Dangling the Wedding Ring: The mom-to-be's wedding ring is tied to a piece of string or a strand of her hair and suspended over her stomach. If the ring rotates counterclockwise, it's a boy. If it rotates clockwise, it's a girl.

Heart Rate - The theory states that if your baby's heart rate is 140 beats per minute and above, it's a girl. If the heart rate is under 140 beats per minute, it's a boy.

Dad's weight- is:
Gaining too. - Boy
Not gaining weight. - Girl

Boy or Girl: Hungry? Might be having a boy!

Why are newborn boys are weightier than their female counterparts? That's been a big question for a long time. Recently, researchers discovered that women who were carrying a boy ate about 10 percent more calories than women carrying a girl.

Let me warn you, there will be fumes!! You have to use kitchen crystals draino. 1st pee in a clear plastic cup, add 1 teaspoon draino crystals to the mixture, stir it up with a plastic spoon and if it is a boy it will be bluegreen and a girl, murky brown. Be careful with this test people will say it is harmful because of the fumes, maybe have the hubby add the draino so you are not close to it. I did it and it said a boy and I am having a boy, but you said you don't want to know what it is. Anyway, have fun!

the draino test, supposedly you put draino in the toilet and have the pregnant woman use the bathroom (number 1) if the water turns pink your having a girl, stays blue a boy.

There was actually a little section about this in the printouts that my dr gave me during my 1st prenatal visit and they don't recommend you do this because you could actually splash some of the draino on that very sensitive part of your body and it doesn't feel real good, at least that what my dr said.

is this an american product? is there anything similar in the uk to use instead?

and good luck with your test

came to edit highdle i swore by the ring test, it never failed with all other pregnancies in the family.i done it on my daughter from the minute we found out she was pregnant and it kept saying girl.she went for her 20 week scan and they said its a boy.so i would'nt trust that one now i know its only for fun, but it did work on the other 20 odd babies in our family(who are now all older btw)

It's when you mix your urine with Drano. The resulting colour supposedly will tell you if your baby is a boy or a girl. They strongly recommend that you DON'T try this because the fumes resulting from the mix can be very harmful to yourself and your baby.
