It's good for Biron. He can be in the limelight instead of the number 2 guy in the shadows. Plus it frees up some salary cap room for the Sabres, instead of having $2 Million sitting on the bench. Come play offs teams seldom use the number 2 guy. They were likely to loose him as a free agent in the off season. Win-win situation. Although, if something does happen to Miller, the GM will look dumb.

Its going to suck for Buffalo to not have two awesome top goalies on our team.. But Ryan Miller is our number one man and hes awesome and we paid Biron too much for him hardly playing.. It will be good for him..He can step out of the shadow now... I think the Sabres will be fine with Miller.. At this point I dont think anything can bring the Sabres down.. Buffalo gets a chance to be in the spotlight again this year.. I live in Buffalo and I think the teams success is do to the fans... This town has such a great vibe from the Sabres....

Biron wasn't going to sign on to play as a back up next season. He wants to be a number one somewhere.

Ty Conklin is a better fit for the Sabres because he's a good goalie who works hard and who accepts being the role of a back up. He's good enough to fill in for long stretches should Miller ever hurt himself. But He's not consistant enough to demand the team give him a shot as number one.

I can't believe how little the Sabres got for him.

He'll be philly's starter for years, and this will come back to haunt Buffalo.

I like Miller, but he's fragile both Physically and Mentally. (Injured in each of the last two years)
He's a great Goalie with the psyche of Tommy Salo.
Sabres better hope he never lets in a soft one in the playoffs- he'll fold like an old card table.

Great Pick-up for philly.
And, I'm a Rangers fan.

Biron=Miller. Both are about equal. So with one gone, there's some space on the salary and not too much to loose with the goaltending issue.

I dont mind because I know its good for the sabres. He cost way to much for a back up goalie. We have some mony on our cap now which is good.

i loved Marty. I wish him well. He was not something Buffalo could afford. Ty will be a good backup to Ryan and with Zubrus on the team now we should be fine.

Man, what lame answers except for the one directly above. They were going to lose him after the season as an UFA so get something for him. A great goalie in Philly for years?? He is free to sign ANYWHERE July 1st.

Dang salary cap and free agency! See, Marty was going to be going in free agency after this season no matter what, so it was wise to at least get something for him. I will miss him, but what can you do
