can anyone tell me how to get javascript to work so that i can watch vids on youtube please. ive downloaded the newer version but it wont let me play. thanx x x

1) Java and Javascript aren't related. Completely different in fact.

2) I hope you're using Firefox - it's faster, safer, more up to date, blocks pop-ups and is reviewed as being better overall vs IE6 and IE7

3) Have you checked that you've allowed Javascript in your browser's settings? It's usually somewhere near Tools - Options - Privacy (or Security).

4) You've mentioned you downloaded the newest version of Javascript ... did you install it?

You don't really have to install Javascript, don't you mean Java? You can get Java from the Sun Microsystems website free of charge. Try downloading and installing this. But Youtube works without it anyway, at least it works on my PC's here.

download the new flash player and you can view youtubes videos.

maybe your browser isnt compatable or is set to block java
what is your browser ?
