A silly question I know, but I'm bored, and I can't explain it. The only possible exception I can think of is the "Catholic school girl" look. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Not silly at all. Thigh high stockings are usually much more sheer than pantyhose or knee highs. they accentuate the leg way more, and offer mad advantages over pantyhose. No waist band no itching, you can wear your own thong or bikini, not cover it all up with the nasty nylon panty in pantyhose.
Knee highs are usually thick, like extended knee socks, and look like little girl wear of really casual sportswear. Not sexy at all. Thigh highs either get connected to a garter belt or corset which the most sexy way to wear them, or the stay up kind, which have a decorative elastic band on top. Either way they make the legs look way better that just a tan, and expose the skin at the very top of the thigh where it counts.

knee highs can be sexy, depending on the attitude and how they're worn and what with.
I think the thigh highs are more prevalent as 'sexy' as it's just that slight bit of thigh that will show right near the golden chalice that we're trying to sneak a peek at... also, gartered stockings are very classically sexy, and those are also riding somewhere on the thigh... I think those are more for a 'framed' image.

the catholic school girl thing IS sexy as hell, but if the knee highs are on a 55 yr old women noooot quite as sexy ya know?

OOO...and knee highs are tight around the top to hold them up, and sometimes they are too tight and women's fat/mucsles pop up over the top of the knee high and looks like a muffin!

Because thighs are WAAAAAAAY sexier than Knees......thigh highs are...man, i cant even think of how to word it....the thigh is a much more promising area than the knee....thighs are just sexier...all there is too it
