A phylogenic tree is used by scientists to see when in the evolutionary time line organisms changed. At a node, two or more branches form. Each branch represents a species or organism that evolved from a common ancestor. Phylogenic trees are used to study when evolutionary differences aroused and to determine how organisms are related to each other.
