I would say the Expedition hands down. The Expedition features a class exclusive Independant Rear Suspension. Aside from better handling, and noise isolation, this allowed the engineers to allow for a larger 3rd row seat area because the "IRS" is smaller more compact suspension system, than the traditional Live-Axle Beam suspensions everyone else uses.

The feature was also used in the previous generation Explorer, and in use in the new Explorer as well.

I'm 6-02', and I can sit comfortably in the 3rd row of an Expedition. And unlike other SUV's, my knees aren't hitting my face when sitting in that 3rd row.

The Expedition is also available in "EL" Extended Length which stretches a few inches more of cargo capacity if you have the 3rd row up. The 3rd row is foldaway/dissapears into the floor, and it does so with Power Function, so no need to be pulling/pushing, the seat for it.

Comfortably? You need a full size van for that. Twice as much space than an Expedition.
