A New 2nd Gen 2Gig Nano on the High Street is @£125.

If your friends 1st Gen Nano is a newish unit and in good condition, with a few original accessories (and tunes inside!), then you should look at paying @ half the new price i.e@£62 maximum. If its just the Nano in good condition (with some tunes!) then @£40-£50 depending on how good a mate he is! (Remember the 2nd Gen Nano only came out late last year!)
If its in reasonable condition but showing ware and tear then you should be looking at paying between £30 - £40 with accessories or @£25-£30 without. Your friend would get @£20 for it just for spares from an on-line company if it worked.

Remember that you can still buy new front and back plates for Nano's if it is a little too "rubbed up"!
