If so, what were the results?? I have bad sinus, and my right ear is blocked, sounds feel like a whispering screech most of the time, and it's driving me mad.The specialist does not want to operate and im sick of taking drugs that only seem to fix the problem temporaliy. Is ear candling just a placebo? Or has it really helped you?

I did it once. In one ear, it worked, the other I don't think I had it flush w/ my flesh because nothing came out. But done right, flush up to your ear, and with someones help (you can't do it alone) it works. It removes years of built-up wax. You can purchase ear candles at any 'natural' store.

I have done ear candling on myself a couple of different times. It definately does help with getting out wax gently; but as far as sinus trouble is concerned, I didn't have much luck with it. In fact I just had some difficulty myself. I tried the candling again, and still had the liquid in my ear. Plus, a couple of hours later, I had some bleeding from that ear. I thought that the eardrum had ruptured, but the doctor said that it was blood clots. He thought that the candling may have had something to do with it, but I'm not certain. It is possible, especially since I was dealing with an ear infection when I tried the candling. I would suggest that you try it if you are sure that it is just wax causing the blockage. I have had good experience with using an onion poultice on my ears before. To do this you can cook the onion either in the oven or grill it or boil it. I prefer not to boil it, because it will loose too much of the onion juice in the water. Steaming it would also work good. After it is good and hot with the juices flowing inside the onion, cut it up some and place it in a cloth and hold it on your ear for as long as possible. A half hour or hour is about right. You could try it a couple times a day. It really helps with the pain. The onion helps to pull out the poison.
Now, if this is a recurrent problem stemming from sinus trouble, you should get yourself a good dietary product that will help your body to repair itself naturally. Please take a look at this website. This is a completely natural dietary supplement which gives the body necessary glyconutrients which cause the cells to communicate properly between themselves; and, in turn, promote the bodies natural ability to repair itself.

My mom used to do it to me because I have had sinus and ear troubles quite a bit. It kind of seemed to help, but not really. Then we read somewhere (and I can't remember where!) that ear candling was not a good thing to do. Maybe you can try finding some articles online about it to read before trying it.

Ear candling is a hoax. People claim that by doing this, it draws a bunch of "toxins" out of the body. They point to the residue and say, "See? There it is". If you gotta try it, try burning a candle on a plate first - don't put it in your ear. Then do the ear candling bit, and compare the results.

Or just read the Straight Dope article on it.

I have used it on my husband and the kids and yes it works. The first thing you need to do though is get on a good multivitamin that is well absorbed by your body and then an antioxidant supplement. Go ahead and pick up some ear candles but have someone help you use them.

Yes I have, used to do it alot, make suer you prop the candle in the top to a shoe borx or something to avoid getting the ashes on your ear. If you do it too much like I. . . you will get candle wax in your ear, other wise every once in a while is ok, f eels good too
