If he gave his speech in which he stated "We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender." do you think democrats and liberals especially would rally against him as a war mongering neocon and call him terrible names like they do Bush and then come on Yahoo answers and talk about how he is evil and make their profile picture one with him strategically looking like a chimp? (Ok, ill give you that you libbies, bush does look like a chimp but thats all you got.)

Think about it.
If liberals had the chance to protest as much as they do today, think of how different history would have been??? Many great men and great attempts at world peace would have been hindered by their constant hatred for anyone who is trying to stand for something they believe even if it hurts someones "feelings"

Yes. Without a doubt. Even Winston Churchill had his drooling gaggle of witless detractors, but it would be more venomous today.

They would've also berated him for his "Never give up" commencement speech.

Um.... there's a difference. You're assuming Winston Churchill would still give the speech today and still feel the same way. Maybe he wouldn't be pro-Iraq war. You don't know, nor did you know him.

If he made that speech today I would disagree but never call him a neocon. I don't call bush a neocon.

But you generalize. Tell me how I think and what I'd say because I'm labelled "liberal".

Think about it.
You generalize so much that a great man, conservative or not, like Mr. Churchill wouldn't spend time near you.

If liberals (such as Henry Ford, for example) had been successful in their attempts to stop the US entry into WW2, the libs would not be protesting today. They would be too busy 'goose-stepping' with Franz.....

Look at the statements the so-called conservative leadership is making today:
"If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure."
"I know how hard it is to keep food on your family."
"I believe that fish and man can coexist."

And so forth. With orations like that, how do you expect the public to react?

Apples and oranges.

Churchill was Britain's leader during its "finest hour". Bush has lied to the American people about everything just to meet his own agenda, and has sacrificed the lifes of American soldiers in the process.

The difference is the "threat" is overblown. Don't get me wrong, terrorists do exist, but to start wars based on anything but cold hard facts is not something we'll get our shorts in a knot over.

They were around back then too. It's just a tribute to how forgettable they are that we don't know much about them. They were just as impotent back then as they are today. They can't even be decisive about ending the war they hate so much.

Oh yeah... Winston Churchil... the conservative hero that got his fat conservative *** saved from the nazis by no other than the greatest liberal in US history Franklin D Roosevelt.

You mean that Churchil?
