With all the buzz around the Bertuzzi trade, I started thinking about this injury again. When you think of a broken neck, you usually link that to being paralyzed, but I dont think thats the case with Moore. Does anyone have information and website that states his current health?

His career is totally over,no way he's ever going to come back, which is unfortunate, yet Bertuzzi is free to earn millions of dollars and continue his career. It would be better if the penalty for injuring someone is a suspension that lasts three games longer than the number of games the person you injured is forced to miss. That would mean hacks like ONeill in Ottawa would be sitting ouit until Druary plays three games, and scum like Bertuzzi would be out of hockey just Steve Moore. I would bet that would cut down on these cheap shots.

He's retired from the NHL. A few months after the injury he was doing light work-outs, but even he knew his retirement was inevitible. In early '05 he filed a civil suit against Todd Bertruzzi, Brad May, and Brian Burke (the Canucks GM). It was thrown out later in the year and the judge cited the case should be pursued in Vancouver, BC.

He has since filed a $19.5 million lawsuit against Bertuzzi.

He walks and talks fine, and some news reports even said he was skating again (not at an NHL level, just skating), but I'm not sure if that has been confirmed.

His status in the NHL is probably either retired or just out for good, not sure how they word it. In normal life he is a normal person basically.
