the bowling team of Franco's Bakery has a record of 8 wins and 12 losses. what is the least number of the remaining 35 games the team must win if they are to finish the season winning at least 60% of all games played?

8 wins, 12 losses means 20 games played so far
35 remaining games
20 (played) + 35 (remaining) is 55 total games.
to win 60% of 55
0.60 X 55= 33 games out of 55 games for 60%
need to win 33, already won 8
33-8 = 25
They ahve to win 25 of the remaining 35

Easy, 60% of 35 is 21. 21 is the least number of games total they must win. They already have 8 so 21-8 equals 13. they must win 13 more games to finish at 60%.

Break the problem into pieces.
1) First, you know that they've played 20 games so far (8+12), and that they have 15 more games left to play (35-20).

2) If they need to win 60% of all games, they need to win 21 games total (60% x 35).

3) If they've won 8 so far, they need to win another 13 games of the remaining 15 games to reach 21 wins total.

heres an equation with x= minimum number of games needed

(8+x)/(20+35)=0.6
