i always heard the hard drive noise, it's annoying.
does ur ipod make tat annoying noise too?

i've never heard anything. is it really so noisy that you hear it over your headphones?

The hard drive noise is completely normal. If you begin to hear repeated ticking(like a clock) then that is bad. All the new ones make more noise than the predecessors.
I'd guess that apple changed the scroll rate for some reason or another. For me, the scroll acceleration has changed from the 3rd gen(scroll wheel) to the 5th gen(video).

Yeah, sadly. It's really annoying, but they all do that. At least the ones Ive seen.
