I have a job interview tomorrow for "Claims Manager" in a Health Insurance company.

I've been in this field a long time and have the background, but I have never had a management position before.

Does anyone involved in this field have any advice?

what are you skills? Identify them...what are the skills you have that are transferrable? What kind of skills do managers use? tomorrow is too soom but next time...if you end up still looking....research jobs to find the skills used in them....use an occupational handbook...they are free and on the internet. When you identify your skills...things like, "problem solving", "critical thinking sills", "communication skills"; "anayatical skills"...be able to explain how you have used those skills in the past.

I'm a Career Advisor at a major mid-western univesity since 1985 and I can promise you the top one half of most wanted skills by firms are "transferrable skills"
Go to http://www.jobhuntersbible.com and you may find a list of transferrable skills...failing that go to my web site at....
http://www.personality-power-for-everyday-living.com and respond on one of the forms and I'll send you a list of "transferrable skills" you can use now and in the future.
All the best.
