CNA would allow you to work in the medical field sooner than going direct to RN and would have few classes that won't apply to the RN.
LPN would take longer and would be a less appropriate path.
It would be BEST to just go directly through the RN program. But the need to earn money to eat may be the deciding factor.

Go straight through at a college and get the four year degree.
There are RN to BSN programs for those who got an associate RN, but there are few and far between CNA, and LPN programs.
Now if you want to work in the nursing field during the summer you could check into seeing how long it would take for you to get a CNA or LPN for personal experience, but it really wouldn't help you get your degree.

I myself am going to school now for RN. I have my CNA but don't use it, my adviser told me that if i knew RN was what I wanted to do. Just go in to it. Skip the LPN. There is a few more requirements but in the end .. it's worth it. hope that helps

Well i do know that it is pretty competitive to get into RN school. But if you are going to go the LVN CNA route, you should recieve certification from a junior college the is state accredited so that when you go to get your RN your untis will transfer! But if you can get into RN school go for it and do that first!

No. Just go for the RN---why spend the extra time if you know an RN is what you want?
