all my friends are telling me to work at my local drug store, just because they say you can train and become a pharm tech and that its pretty simple, but everyone goes blank when i ask how much it costs. i'm a criminal justice major, but if its "easy" to aquire a pharm tech certification, i don't mind at least trying to train for it as a "plan b" come on, i'm young and stupid. "does anyone know a price range for certification as a pharmacy technicain. i don't expect an exact dollar amount , but just tell me if i'm looking at 500 dollars or 5 grand to deal drugs......

Most companies will pay for you to take the certification exam. It is considered a waste of money to get formal pharm tech education because you will not make it back. A new certified tech will start at $10 per hour. I have never heard of a pharm tech making more than $15 per hour. This job does not pay much.

go and see a college. It all depends on how long the course is, whether you have to move to attend, whether you can work and study at the same time as well as course and book fees, fares, meals. Rough estimates I would say about 2k
