I was wondering if anybody who has travelled around Spain could possible fill me in on places preferably on the coast which appear the most 'unspoiled'.

By 'unspoiled', I mean places which have been the least affected by tourism and still have a traditional spanish cultural vibe.

I am going to travel around Spain in order to 'soak' in some spanish culture and I need advice from those who have been 'there' and 'done' that...

However, I would still appreciate advice from people who haven't been in this position. The more info, the better...

The truth is if you are looking for unspoilt coast then you have to head north. it is no tlike the med which will be hotter and sunnier with nice sandy beaches, but overbuilt. the northern coast of Cantabria, Asutiras, Basque country and galicia is rugged, green and completely unspoilt. for example, if you go to Santander and drive along the coast you will find some very nice little towns and near the town Comillas some amazing and beautiful sandy beaches with relatively few people going there. some surfers and spaniards who vacation there for generations. no foreign mass tourists. Same throughout the rest of the coast. if you insist on the south, the best, most unspoilt coasts are Almeria or near tarifa/cadiz(which is funky, heaven for windsurfers) which also has increible sand beaches. And this is the real Spain! Lastly, go the the baleares - menorca, ibiza and especially formentera, but avoid the high season. go end may, start june. But I also also recommend you travel through the interior where you will find places authentically spanish

YOU SEEM LIKE YOU COULD BE AMERICAN LIKE MYSELF...I DONT KNOW IF GIBRALTAR IS A PLACE YOU WANT TO VISIT, BUT ITS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE AT THE COAST OF SPAIN. ITS SOUTH OF SPAIN..KIND OF CONNECTED I THINK, AND ITS A U.K COLONY. ITS AN ABSOLUTELY BREATHTAKING PLACE, AND YOU CAN ALSO GO TO LA LINEA WHICH IS NEARBY. IT IS PART OF SPAIN, AND IT HAS A LOT OF ENGLISH SPEAKING PEOPLE, SPECIFICALLY FROM ENGLAND, THERE. MALAGA IS ALSO A PLACE OF CONSIDERATION. I HOPE THIS HAS HELPED YOU.
