So we know that the left brain is the calculating, practical, and reasoning side and the right brain is the creative, intuitive, emotional side. Now MY take (in condensed form) is that a person's mission in life is to find happiness. Simply put to do what they love and love what they do and also sustain their existence. I believe to find that happiness we are faced with decisions everyday that are either best made using different measures of left and right brain but I think the hidden mission is to make both sides work together in harmony to achieve happiness. Sometimes we use too much of the wrong side or not enough which sets us back from finding happiness. I am an artist, therefore I am best when using the right brain and tend to procrastinate left brain activities like budgeting and making lists. I think one of the best people that has the best balance is Mark Cuban. Your thoughts and opinions folks?

The brain is like a computer, the hardware. Our belief-system is like the OS and what we experience and learn is the soft-ware. Our spirituality/consciousness is what runs things, life. Happiness doesn't have anything to do with the brain at all. Happiness deals with our spirituality and our living in the moment and loving and trusing ourselves. Happiness isn't something to attain it is a state that we are in when we are at ease with ourselves.

I am much more right brained too, but the more left brained things that I do, the better I become. I try to exercise my brain daily by doing crossword puzzles, my job (computer analyst), and thinking about new and inventive ways to use everyday materials.

Sometimes we're bound to fall into mostly right brained activities. If we're mindful of this, then we can make special efforts to incorporate left brain things too. Blending and using both is always nice, but not always possible.

Interesting! I'll have to read up on Mark Cuban!! I always tended to be left-brained--was Left-handed until I was forced to switch to Right in 1st Grade!! My speech went to pieces, self-esteem destroyed and I flunked that grade trying to figure out language!! It's been a life-long Journey of figuring out language that led to the best years of my life!! I ended up working with severe acting-out teen-aged guys and helped THEM figure out their own behavioral-language!! Through what is now termed as "IT"--Information Technology through DIAGRAMMING rather than thru verbal information!!! My happiness resulted from my developing both spheres and in helping others get their lives in a productive direction!! Of course, my Grandchildren provide a great deal of my happiness now--but overall, happiness is the melding of both spheres and in developing and creating new ways of helping each other. Your art certainly does that!! But I'll bet that you employed not only your L, but R sphere in CREATING! THAT is happiness to me!!

WOW .... man, that is deep. All that I know is " LEFT handed people are the only ones in their RIGHT minds " . I'm under qualified to say any thing else. Good luck on your quest. Marie
