I just got mine on friday... my dad had been calling EB Games and Gamestop all week, 2 times a day. He called both stores on friday but none had been shipped in. He called walmart and they had 5!!! Of all places, walmart was where i got it. They are very hard to find and luck has to be on your side.
if you dont find anything retail, you can get them on ebay... the cheapest Buy It Now wiis are around $320, plus shipping. You will end up paying $350 for the console alone, but you will atleast have your brothers present. If you want to bid, you might get one for around $280... i wish you luck and a happy birthday to your brother!!!
If you must get one retail, call stores like Target, Walmart, Gamestop, EB games, and Circuit City every day... Stores WILL NOT tell you when a shipment of wii will be in, and they dont usually reserve wiis.

I got a Nintendo Wii for my brother for Christmas. And it was HARD!!! Call around every where, ask electronic stores etc when they expect to get the Wii, and you might need to keep calling. Be aware you might need to wait outside for it. I'm such a loser but I waited outside for 13 hours before the store opened, and you'd think I was first in line but I was actually one of the last!

Hiya,
you can purchase a Nintendo Wii thru any trusted 3rd party seller directly at Amazon. They have good feedback, deliver on time, mostly are merchants themselves simply and Amazon operates as the platform, in fact the purchase is processed directly via Amazon as you would usually buy from them.
You might check it out at
http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FNintendo-LU502934445-Wii%2Fdp%2FB0009VXBAQ%2Fsr%3D8-1%2Fqid%3D1166291892%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Dvideogames&tag=advertiwillbe-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325
and then click on "See all buying options" at the right. That's just in case Amazon themselves don't have the item in stock.
This is actually currently the best choice to get your hands on a Wii at all - without any hassles.
You might also try out ebay:

or Ebay express where only selected and trusted merchants are accepted:

Hope that helps.
Best wishes
Mike

If you're really desperate, you should look at online stores. They may have. Maybe even e-bay, but you'll probably get ripped off.

ebay.com (or other auction sites).
Or call around and ask the game/electronics stores when they have a shipment coming in (and if you can reserve one)...if you can't reserve one, be there waiting.
