You should do what ever your comfortable with. YOU are the leader of the band. Who says every leader should play a guitar. I hope none of the band is preasuring you in to doing that.

I think that would be cool. Just make sure that the other members support you and wont be mad if you do it.
Also, if you have a guitar player you don't have to play lead it will just help out the rhythm and stuff.
I think it would be a wothwhile thing to do because you will have more talent.
I woulnd't push yourself to learn and you want to do it for fun not because you feel like you have to.
If the other members of your band think that it is taking to much of your time-you should respect their opinion.

It is your choice. If you want to play guitar then learn. You are already musically talented or you would not be the lead so you have nothing to prove. But learning any new instrument is always a plus

I think you should learn how to play the guitar. Most of the bands i listen to do. So do i. Drums and Base are also fun

You don't have to play lead guitar -- even if you just play chords (rythym guitar) that would be cool. Learn a few basic chord patterns, and you can move that pattern up and down the frets for any song in any key.

If you feel that the guitar is your thing, then play it. If you think its good for you band, and you agree, play it. If guitars aren't what you like, then don't. It's your choice not theirs, you'll be playing it, so you get to choice.
