"Notes on a Scandal" is outstanding. The acting is first rate and the story is very psychologically suspenseful.

For a lighthearted, average little romantic comedy, "Music and Lyrics" is OK. If you want something more challenging, "Babel" is a serious portrayal of how we as humans fail to communicate effectively across the barriers of language, culture, and class. "Notes on a Scandal" is very good, too. A bit more of a traditional suspense-drama about a teacher having an affair w/one of her male students. Very good performances all around.

Babel was alright, though it was long and needed some editing. I haven't seen any of the other movies, so I don't how good they are.

if you are looking for an excellent drama, Notes On A Scandal is the one...
if you want fantasy and something light, go for Bridge to Terabithia
I don't recommend any of the others on your list.

The Numcer 23 was really good... not as scary as they make it sound, but it was still a good suspense film.
