Yes. Those bastards should suffer like the rest of us.

And as a lawyer...the divorces should bring in sweet cash.

I hate when religion shows its ugly face in questions like this. Keep religion out for once! Not everyone believes a book should dictate our lives, laws and government. Love should be defined as a special bond that two PEOPLE feel towards each other. It doesn't matter who they are, where they come from or anything else. We are in no position to judge or deny these people. They will have their day just as every other group that has been discriminated against. I'm not gay and happily married, but don't tell me that a man and a woman are so perfect for marriage. I know 3 gay couples that have been together and happy for a long time, over all these man and woman marriages that are over before they start. They should be able to have the same rights, insurance, death and inheritance rights as everyone else. If they are committed to each other why should someone deny them? Because a 2,000 year old book says we should... give me a break.

No. Marriage is a sacred thing and it's reserved for one man and one woman. Allowing gay marriage cheapens the value of marriage. Believe me, I am okay with homosexuality, but marriage is given to us by God to bring up a family and to bring comfort and security. Gay marriage is contrary to the bible - whatever your religion is.

I think that they should have most of the legal rights of marriage, but honestly - call it something else and don't perform it in church. That makes a mockery of God's laws.

I'm sure that homosexuality is not a choice, but it is not the plan either. I honestly hope that gay people are happy and do well in life, but please stop pushing and trying to make the rest of us believe that it is in any way equal to the life plan that God has put forth. It's just not!

Only if the marriage is NOT performed in a church or by a clergy member, because the word of God does not support such relationships. Legally, people should be able to be with whoever they please as long as it's not hurting anybody else, but what they do behind closed doors should STAY behind closed doors - gay or straight. It's called RESPECT for your loved one!

Morally, homosexuality is wrong and I don't support it because it is NOT what God intended when He created marriage. God made man and woman and He designed their bodies to fit perfectly together NATURALLY. But I do NOT hate gays and it infuriates me when people assume that anybody who doesn't morally support gay marriage must be homophobic. If that's the logic people are going to use, why aren't gay marriage supporters considered "heterophobic"?

My thoughts and beliefs are no. I don't think that a gay couple should have the same rights as me and my husband. I don't care that they choose to live together but the vows of marriage are sacred. Let each individual live their lives as they please but protect the sancity of marriage. Marriage is a very special thing god ment for a man and woman only.

Isn't gay marriage and oxymoron?

Edit: Yeah go ahead and label me a homophone if you want. But those of you who treasure your marriage. How would you like it if your marriage was considered just another co-habitation. There is NO sanctity, NO sacrament you are just living together and the courts have the right to go through your assets when you move apart. If my marriage is only considered a co-habitation, why did I get married?

I think the word you are looking for is "legalized." I don't care one way or the other. To each his or her own.

I'm married 20+ years now and I'm straight. I also know gay couples that have been together as long as me and my husband. What's the difference?
