In the MLM context, what they usually used is the F.O.R.M. method of getting information through casual conversation. The letters represent:
F - Family
O - Occupation
R - Recreation
M - Message
From the conversation, you can get the message whether he is in need of extra money. In the conversation, you should hightlight areas that need money, such as children education, vacation, life after retirement, etc,. Modern people cannot rely just on one stream of income, everybody has to be double skilled inorder to survive. At the appropriate time, show or explain the business to your prospect. This may not be in the first conversation, may be in second or third, especially for the MLM.

good luck with that even if its a real business oppurtunity most people are too cheap,too lazy,too busy to make a honest effort.people are also tired of being scammed by con artist.if you have areal oppurtunity you know who to talk to if you dont know a lot of people find someone in your business to guide you and teach you the ropes.good luck.
