Do you ever tell them to go the wrong way on purpose?

I'll admit it, if someone asks me for directions to someplace that's really obvious, I'll give them the wrong directions. For example, if we're walking down Pennsylvania Ave and someone asks me where the White House is, I'll send them to the Capital building instead. Call me mean, but if you're standing in front of one of the most recognizable buildings in the US and you ask where it's at, you deserve to be sent somewhere else.

Not really on purpose but I have found that there are 2 different types of direction givers...some people say (left/right) and others are into compass direction (NSEW). I give (left/right) directions now if the person asking for my help is into compass directions and keeps interrupting me and insists that I figure out which compass direction it is I basically give up and just start making things up.

I'm not the only one that has done this?????? It depends on the person asking, but I've been known to send people in the wrong direction a time or two....:) Hey, it's funny!!!!

i did once i have to admit, but the person was french so they were looking for it. but generally i give them the wrong directions just because i'm kinda stupid regarding directions

I'm really bad with directions so if my hubby is there, he tells them how to get about...but if it's just me, I'll usually say I have no idea. It's embarrassing.

no, i don't even usually know the right way, so if i give them directions, thinking that its wrong, i'd probably end up gving the right directions...just my luck.

No b/c I know what it is like to have the lost feeling and I would not wish that on anyone.
