I sure don't think so. 90% of dogs I see can't even open a door that is cracked by themselves, but almost all cats I see are smart enough to put their paws under the door, or even scratch at the side of the door to walk in/out. I also noticed some dogs I had in the past couldn't find their Milk Bone I through almost literally in front of their faces, but when I hide a cat treat, my cat finds it pretty easily. And I realize this is off the line, but cats are also much more physically fit than dogs. They are quick and agile, and have speed. Hell, kittens are cuter than puppies too. ( Hamsters beat both :) ) So what do you guys think? Cats or dogs? Which animal is smarter?

I think cats are smarter but not as cooperative and willing to learn human tricks. They do what they want to do.

Dogs aren't quite as smart but are willing to learn.

That being said I have met some pretty smart dogs and some dumb cats

People keep saying That cats are smarter because they refuse to learn tricks and such. Well, i could Say the same thing about a goldfish, or a banana. And comment like: Dogs are dumb because they Will still listen to their human even if the Person beats the dog. So what Is That saying about a woman who stays in an abusive Relationship?

Yes, a cat has a short term memory where as a dog can remeber your scent. Some cats are extreamly talented (ie toilet trained) but most people just don't relize you can train a cat too like to sit and play chase but a Dog will remeber a trick were as a Cat if not persistant with the training will easily forget

i think dogs are...they respond better...i dont know about the dogs you've had but all mine which i had more than 15 in a 18 year period...all of them knew when i said stop jumping, stay quiet, go get it, go over there etc..even when i said it in spanish!!.. i never had them as inside dogs....but when it would hail or if it was bad out side i would have them come in...with out me saying a word or telling them where to be..they all stayed put right in front of the door where there isnt any rug....they scratch to let me know when they had to go to the restroom then waited buy the door to let them in .... and when i had the door a little open they did open it with there paw...i never taught them to stay put by the door or how to let me know when they had to go outside because like i said they never were inside dogs.....how did they know?? because they are intelligent

canines do have greater advantageous brains than cats (Schultz & Dunbar, 2010), even nevertheless thoughts length isn't a properly indicator of intelligence (Purves et al., 2001). it rather is illustrated interior the direction of the certainty that neanderthals genuinely had greater advantageous brains than as we talk's people (Braun, 2008). even nevertheless, the quantity of neurons interior the cortex is correlated with intelligence. in this degree, cats have the applications over doggies, with 3 hundred million neurons in a cat’s cortex in assessment to a hundred and sixty million in a domestic dog's. which means cats have greater desirable information processing skill

cats r so much smarter than dogs!!!!! after all... u cant get 8 cats to pull a sled through snow and freezing temperatures, now can you? and dogs have owners, cats have staff... and one last thing... u see all those cruelty to dog cases and yet the dogs r still obediant to their abusive owners, if u even pretend to hit ur cat he/she will scratch that smirk off your face (and oh yes... there WILL be blood....)
