You have influences, whether or not you are conscious of them and I believe they are important, because they help mold your personal style, choice of material, etc. Even if none individually are particularly strong, collectively they matter.

Yes it is most important to have influences as a singer. To sing I am influenced by Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance. He gives me the courage to sing in front of people. Go listen to music, seriously. Find a style that suits you.
Mine are:
My Chemical Romance (#1)
Queen
The Used
Metallica
Iron Maiden
Black sabbath
Thursday
Atreyu
AFI (sorta) Plus ten billion more....

No, it is not important to have musical influences. But, if you do a lot of listening, and every musician should, some artists seem to rub off on you and become, unconsciously, an influence on your music.

I'd say it would be impossible NOT to have influences, unless you never heard any music before, and if that were the case, you'd be unlikely to become a singer, wouldn't you?

Depends. sometimes it's just good to make your own style and not be molded by other people. But having influences certainly isn't a bad thing

Yeah i assume it could impression you. I advise who opt for to be in church and get kept away from there for listening to your popular noise. Thats no longer the sole reason i do no longer pass to church yet its been one in all them because of the fact i'm no longer into that form of manipulating. If its no longer the track I hear too that somebody won't like approximately me and opt for to alter then I determine whats next? I easily have cherished my share of classical too.yet to the human beings who don't take excitement in my classical they frequently do no longer hate me in basic terms for the track i'm enjoying. some human beings no longer in basic terms hate classical as a sound yet as what they envision it to be of their heads that's from time to time the reminder of each and every of the no longer so friendly luggage which could be linked with the historic past of human beings who have white pores and skin. i assume that the way that those 2 varieties of track get reaction would not have too plenty to do with the easily track or the guy who performs the track yet because of the fact somebody would not like it than they're going to settle directly to offer the guy crap for listening to it in line with how they have desperate to sense approximately it.

No, because you'll end up copying them. Most musicians don't listen to other music for fear that it will rub off on them.

no, but it helps give you direction; unless your "pre-packaged", then that just makes you a brainless sellout.
