When I get my period, they last for 10 days, which means I only have 2 weeks without it which realllllly sucks. I just got it last summer but its still wierd. all of my other friend's dont last as long as mine. I hate it. What's wrong with me?

Dont worry!!! First of all, the first year that you have your periods, for most girls, everything is out of whack. You will have short ones, long ones, missed ones, really light ones...all of it...but over time your cycle will regualte itself and you'll start to notice a pattern. Even if you do notice a pattern of abnormally long heavey periods, still, dont worry! ITs easily fixed by a trip to the doc. They can put you on medication (usually the pill) that will lessen the severity of your periods. It's a common thing so dont worry. One suggestion..make sure youre not taking aspirin for the cramps. It makes you bleed more. Use ibuprofin instead. Hope this helps!

Well i don't think anything is wrong with you. Periods are weird, when i first got mine, it came and then went and i never saw it again for four months. If you are concerned with the amount of time your on it then you should go to a gynocologist. They can put you on birth control that will make your period go 5-7 days or even better, my sister is on one that makes her only go 3 days and very light....hope this helps

You aren't abnormal, but you may have a problem. You need to tell your mother what is happening so she can get you into your family doctor or a GYN. Excessive bleeding can lead to anemia, & it's just annoying. A doctor can diagnose what is happening & perhaps put you on the pill to regulate your periods.

Sorry to say but nothing is wrong with you it could take up to two years for it to even out. It will change through out your life so this is nothing. Ask you mom if you can try using tampons that will help a little with the issue. it will get better

okay- there is no need to go to a doctor. The first year or so is a little hectic. You will have realyl short ones, really long ones, sometimes you won't have it at all for a month, umm. yeah. It's pretty crazy.
Just hang in there. It will be normal soon. =)

No, you are not abnormal but most people don't last that long.....have you ever asked your physician?

there is nothing wrong with you! you simply drew the short straw when it comes to your periods, if it really bothers you that they last so long, see you doctor, medication such as the pill usually shortens and lightens your period

talk to your mother about this and then your doc. you may have to have some kind of birth control to slow your periods down. but there are risks to these and the only one who can help you honey is your mother and your doc.
