On the show Rugrats, what happened to Chuckie's birth mother?

My son has began watching the show, and I was just wondering.

In one episode when Chuckies dad first met Kimi's mom, he explained to her that Chuckies mom got cancer and was in the hospital, then died when chuckie was only 3 weeks old. =[

In early episodes, Chuckie's mother was implied to be alive and well. For example, Stu says that she will pick Chuckie up from their house in Real or Robots. It is likely there is a gap between those episodes and others where Melinda Finster passed away (though no episode mentions her passing, there has been no explanation for her death and she wasn't seen and rarely mentioned even in the early episodes).

I don't know. It's a shame, though. Poor Chuckie needs a mom to help him when he's scared. His Dad, with all his medical problems and worries and everything, just doesn't seem like he can handle it all. Well,he has Kimee's Mom now. But his birth mom is gone. I think in one episode it said she died.

It was on a special mothers' day special in the 90s. Chuckie's mother died of cancer.

she died. there was a mother's day episode when Chuckie remembered his mom. she loved to work in the green house and in her garden. That was such a long time ago, I don't remember how she died. it could've been from cancer. i don't remember.
