one of my rooms has a very bad smell after cleaning the carpet and deodorizing it. I do not know what else to do because the airfresheners don't help.

You need to lift the carpet and find out what's happening underneath. Could be the subfloor, pad or capet base is getting moldy. The subfloor may need to be painted with Kilz or someother encapsulting paint.

Often with floods, the carpet is pulled and dried and reset with a new pad.

The problem isn't the air......it's the floor. The air is the symptom.

I've had my bathtub overflow and feel for you. You really have to treat the carpet itself. You can do this either with baking soda or Borax. Both can be used even if the carpet is still wet, just sprinkle over the carpet and vacuum up later. In your case, I would leave which ever you use over night so that they can absorb the odors.

I would recommend pulling back the carpet and letting air dry and replace padding most smells are held in by the padding. when you clean your carpet your doing exactly that not cleaning anything under it. i would also inspect whatever wood flooring is under that as well for any damage. Good luck :)
