Not necessarily. If you look through comics, there are plenty of super heroes who have come from other planets, some even to escape global cataclysms.
For example, DC’s J’onn J’onzz, the Martian Manhunter was teleported from Mars to Earth and could not get back, so he decided to help out the poor crime-ridden Earthians until his people developed space travel to rescue him.
Adam Strange (another DC character) was accidentally teleported from Earth to Rann, where he became the champion of the planet. He in turn was copied from Edgar Rice Burrough’s (the creator of Tarzan) John Carter of Mars. John Carter was the one who set the stage for Superman gaining super powers on Earth,, because, under the lesser gravity of Mars, John Carter never seemed to get tired—he was able to raise huge weights and leap tremendous distances!
On the Marvel side, the Silver Surfer would not have had super powers if he had not come to Earth in the service of Galactus—which was to prevent a global cataclysm on his home world, getting eaten by Galactus…! And, after SS got here, he had a change of heart and rebelled against Galactus and helped the Fantastic Four save the world from big G. So, Norrin Radd was originally supposed to help destroy the Earth but wound up protecting it.
Does that make Goku a copy of the Silver Surfer? Not necessarily.
Even closer to home, after Al Gore failed to win the Presidential election, he found a new mission in life—scaring everybody with threats about a global disaster! (You have to wonder why HE isn’t sending his kids of in a rocket to another planet…!) Perhaps he got hit on the head and forgot his original goals. It’s a pity. If only he could have been raised as a normal human being….
You know, you just might have a point there… maybe Al Gore IS ripping off Dragon Ball!!!!

The answer to your question is ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!
The number one reasin is Jor-el sent his son Kal-el to earth to save him and so that he may continue in the kryptonian tradition and culture.
Barduck sent Goku to DESTROY the planet... It is not a Superman rip off or exactly the same plot...the only similarity is that Goku and Superman are aliens raised on earth as human. That would be the only parallelism in the plot.

You kind of have a point, there are some similarities but no, it's not a rip-off of Superman
Superman was not sent to Earth to destroy it. He was sent to Earth to be saved when his home planet of Krypton was going to blow up, and to keep the entire Kryptonian culture alive. Goku was sent to Earth to destroy it, and his home planet of Vegeta had little culture anyway. Plus he was sent before Bardock knew the planet was going to blow up.
Goku bumped his head and forgot his mission to destroy Earth. Superman was never sent to Earth to destroy it so he never bumped his head or forgot anything. Superman has a weakness for Krytonite, pieces of his home planet, and Goku does not. Goku has a tail, turns into a giant monkey when he sees the moon, and is from a race of warriors who go to planets to cleanse them of life. Superman has no tail, doesn't turn into anything and is from a race of intellegent people who thought too much of themselves and played God when they shouldn't have. Superman has a job as a reporter. Goku has no job, and just fights in the Annual Tournaments. Superman lives in a fictional American city and wears Red and Blue and a cape and tights. Goku lives in the countryside of Japan and wears an orange gi for Martial Arts. Superman is powered by the yellow sun. Goku goes by his own power. Goku was taken and raised by an old man. Superman was taken in and raised by a young couple who were unable to have children.

I examine a positioned up approximately this besides a on a similar time as in the past, so some distance as anime characters pass, he's the main closest. It became some paragraphs going into ingredient such as you, it became into no longer something expert yet nonetheless fairly thrilling. additionally dont forget how the two have their very own sort as enemies quicker or later or yet another, Goku with Vegeta and Superman with the different few survivors of his homestead planet. undertaking is in Dragonball, there are very practically no similarities to Superman, in actuality he continues to be assumed human. Its in DBZ that each and each flips and additionally you are going to be able to hook up with Superman, so asserting Goku became into stimulated by utilising Superman is annoying to assert. yet nonetheless impressive subject count.

I agree that it's very similar.
It was not supposed to be a rip off from Superman, but a rip off of the ancient Chinese buddist novel "Journey to the West".

I really didn't expect it to go out of space when the series started when I was 8.
