I want to put together a book of people's stories, ages eighteen and older, and tell where they were and what impact this event had on their life. If you are interested please answer me. Thank you.

My grandmother died on Sept. 10, so I was actually at home and not at work when it happened. My husband had already left for work, and I had the tv on while getting ready to head to my parents' to help my mom with funeral arrangements. I had Good Morning America on when Charlie Gibson started reporting about the first plane. At first it sounded like it wasn't a big deal, but then as the coverage started coming along I just sat on the bed and couldn't even move. I think I was already in a stage of grief because of my grandma, and it just seemed like I couldn't make myself think. Anyway, I tried calling my husband but couldn't get ahold of him (we live in Kansas City) and he's a police officer. I went ahead and left for my parents'. I remember driving down the interstate, flipping radio channels from one station to the next and everyone covering it -- from all-music channels to news channels to sports channels. And I remember them going live to one reporter, just as the first Tower fell.

That entire day, as my mom and I met with the funeral director, made plans, etc., it just felt like there was this entire grief that was so much bigger than us. I finally heard from my husband and he was going crazy, because all of the government buildings were under threat. And then I was in this weird angry thing because I needed my husband but they ended up putting the cops on 16 hours on - 8 hours off shifts so there was no way he could come be with me. I kept alternating between grief for everyone because of Sept. 11, and this strange feeling that suddenly my grief for my grandma wasn't that important.

However, having said that, it also made me so much appreciate that my grandma lived a great, long life, and our lives (as survivors) weren't ripped apart -- like everyone who lost anyone during Sept. 11.

Was home from work waiting to go to a Dr. appointment, watching
katie Curic -- watched the first building burning from the first
hit, and as I was watching, saw the second plane coming in
and smacking the second building. Impact ? weird and sickening,
the effect/scene surfaces from time to time.

I was @ work when a man ran into our office, shouting for us to turn the TV to CNN ... couldn't believe that we had been attacked! I immediately called my husband, and my son's school. It made it appreciate being a Christian, and knowing that God had protected me and my family from this horrible event. It made my faith in Christ even stronger
