It is for questions like this that the word "disingenuous" was created.

You know Bush. Sometimes he doesn't have the right word at the right time. I also noticed that the short video clip didn't capture what he said next, so this is probably just some lame set up.

What Bush obviously means is that they are not BLINDLY staying on the same course. They change strategy as new conditions arise, and they respond to those changing conditions, just as the terrorists do. Bush isn't sticking to a strategy written in stone; that would be ridiculous.

So why your disingenuous question? Why not do something productive like show your support so we don't prematurely withdraw before the job is done.

It is true. Bush said that we should stay the course but only if Iraq steps forward with results to defend themselves. Although Bush didn't give a specific time line, he meant this year and if Iraq didn't take action to build its police and military forces then the USA would probably pull out. Bush is under enormous pressure from the American public on this issue and he cannot continue his course of action indefinitely. It is really in the hands of Iraq and if I can make a prediction, Iraq will never pull their act together because they do not know how.

He did say stay the course. Sometimes, the course changes and roadblocks appear and you need to go around them. The devastation that has been caused by the Iraqi regime needed to be taken care of. Do most people want to be in a war no. I am sure they also dont want airplanes flown into our buildings, our Navy ships bombed etc. Remember one thing, Clinton also sent troops to Iraq, but it was more important to be poplular. he pulled them. Bush doesnt care what we think of him. He is taking care of business. I for one am glad we have a president who has the balls to do what must be done. Popular or not. He is running a country. Did anyone ever stop to wonder if Clinton reacted to the attacks on American interests when he was in office, would the WTC buildings still be standing? He was in office for the first bombing. He is staying the course and getting the job done.

You may be confusing a goal with a plan of action. The goal is the desired result, Bush stated that. Win. The plan of action is lacking and has been from the beginning. In order to reach a goal one must have a concrete and sensible plan of action. He doesn't.

it is confusing if you only listen to the propaganda that the liberal media feeds you and tells you is your opinion.

staying the course is a commitment to support the people of Iraq. this does not mean the administration will not adapt the war plan to adjust to our enemies as they do us. show me a clip where bush says "we will not adapt to our enemy, we will continue a strategy whether it is good or bad."

Well, it's true. He DID say that. However, it's a bit more complicated. See, he said:

America is under a threat of WMD attack with weapons Saddam will supply to Al Queda. No WMDS found.

Then, it was to topple a cruel dictator. We did.

Then it was to instill Democracy and hold elections.
They did.

Then it was: " to stay the course until Iraqis can defend themselves."

Now it's " To begin our assault on Iran, run by a wicked dictator who has WMDs and will give them to Al Queda.

so we stay the curse.

"Staying the course" means not leaving until the next president is elected. That way we can't blame Bush for the bloodbath that will get worse then.
