SO FOR YOU TO SAY THAT SLAVERY AND DISCRIMINTATION NO LONGER EXIST AND WE SHOULD GET OVER IT IMAGINE LOOSING A LOVED ONE TO DEATH AND SOME1 WHO HAS NEVA EXPERIENCED THAT SAYING "GET OVER IT" YOU WOULD BE FURIOUS BECAUSE NOT ONLY DO THEY NOT FEEL YOUR PAIN BUT THEY HAVE THE NERVE TO TELL YOU TO GET OVER IT, WELL IMAGINE EVERYTIME YOU WALKED OUT THE DOOR YOU WERE DISCRIMINATED FOR HAVING DARKER SKIN OR THE WAY YOU DRESSED, TALKED & THEY TELL U TO GET OVER IT!

I can't answer for all white people because I am only accountable for me.All I can honestly say is I try to not prejudge people. In my lifetime I've met people whom I've liked and some I didn't(and the reasons were not race it came down to personalities and qualities that I found unacceptable)Good people don't come in just one colour.. When I raised my daughters I tried to be realistic.I said you aren't going to like everyone you meet in life but try not base your opinion on just the visual.Would you still like the person if you had your eyes closed.I like to think I've instilled a positive value system in my daughters that anyone would be proud of.It may sound peculiar to you or maybe condescending for me to say that my daughters had a diversity of friends and I never really thought of their friends as being anything but their friends.I know they were different cultures and/ or race but it was never an issue.I try to treat people with the same respect I want .I wonder what your opinion is of singers who use the N. word in their songs?I don'y understand why it is acceptable(or is it). I would appreciate it if you could give your opinion on that because it makes me angry to hear the word. With respect to slavery, I'm sure you must have heard of the underground railroad that helped slaves escape to freedom. Not all people believed in or supported slavery then .I would like to think that most people do not support discrimination today.

Geez. I am soooo sick of every single race in the world thinking that for whatever reason only white people can be racist. The definition of racism is discrimination towards any group that has a different race than yourself - not white against every other group. I've been racially insulted before too so just grow up.

LOL, yes I feel a lot of white people want to just drop the n bomb or something. Me, I'm Asian so i hear hella people sayin we all look alike or start saying ching chong. Hell if u missed it the Asian community was pissed a couple of days ago 'cause Rosie O'Donnell started saying racist slurs against Asians. Think of it like this, everyone is a little bit racist. We get the fuel for racism from the stereotypes we see in media and then when we see one person perform it. BAM the stereotype is made "true." Most White people want to think of themselves as the non-racist. If the room was full of White people you might hear them talk about Blacks, Latinos, Indians, Asians, blah blah. They have no fear of being called a racist. do the exact opposite with a room full of minorities and then well talk about white people. We are all messed up.

This is called turning an argument on its head:
"Lets be real black people i know y'all got a little racist in yourself?
Yea that's right, I can read your minds, and I know you all secretly want to scream CRACKER, CRACKER, CRACKER at the top of your lungs all day long. Martin Luther King's dream is still not realized."
Your original statement was drooling in overflow of racism. You should look in the proverbial mirror on this issue. You're negatively stereotyping white people because you believe they all secretly do the same to you.

Many people are racist, but they don't have to act on this temptation. It's a choice to be mean.
The government has a big part in keeping racism an on-going thing because they allow all of those segregated programs to exist. And as long as programs exist for certain colors of skin, racism will exist.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'white people'.
How dare you imply that 'white people' (I'm assuming you mean European descent) have racism in them. For me I can't even watch a movie about slavery because I get sick to my stomach. Race is a very sensitive topic to many people. AND I AM SICK OF PEOPLE ALWAYS SEGREGATING PEOPLE INTO GROUPS!! We all have red blood and share the same emotions.
Please understand that there are people out there in the world that have moved far, far beyond racism and all forms of prejudice.

Let's be real- you blacks have alot racism in you. In your eyes, every white person is a racist. That's where you've made your biggest mistake. Alot of whites who truly are not racist could've been your most staunchest allies in this cultural mayhem, but you just had to prove your true "colors" by making racial slurs against the very ones who tried and wanted to be friends with you and pay no attention to the ignoramuses who use skin color as a criteria in judging a persons worth. It's chiefly for this and other reasons that alot of whites no longer want anything to do with people of color. We're damned if we do and damned if we don't.

Hmm, this sounds like projection to me.
I have never used "the N word" in my life, and I never plan to. However, I am subjected to homophobic bigotry from both black and white (and red, and yellow, and pink, and green, and plaid) people alike. Whom do you suggest I blame this on, other than ignorant bigotry?
Michael Richardson does not speak for me, and never has.

Michael Richardson is hardly representative of all caucasians. I don't like to think that we will always have racism, but I'm afraid it might be true. I hope you know that there are those of us out there who aren't racist.

excuse me? i'm white, and the only time i ever hear the N word is from other african-americans. have you ever thought that maybe if your own race stops using racial slang, others would stop to. all you are doing is impowering others to use negative language towards you. my question is why is it alright for black people to call other blacks the N word, but then they get upset when someone else does it. thats just being a hypocrite. if you don't want to hear the word, then stop using it yourself. and stop blaming everyone else. its time to grow up and stop the poor me act!
