The scientific name for m-RNA triplets is a CODON. The scientific name of t-RNA triplets is an ANTICODON. The m-RNA reads the DNA by attaching free nucleotides in the nucleus to the DNA, and the t-RNA reads the m-RNA to make the necessary proteins. It's an amazing system isn't it?

The triplet of bases on the mRNA is called a "codon."
The region on a tRNA molecule that is matching or complimentary to the codon on a molecule of mRNA is called an "anticodon", but I have also heard it called an "antisense codon."
