Tell her that you tried your hardest and will try harder next time!

You say this is unlike you. So what happened? Analyze what went wrong and think through what you can do to correct it or so that it won't happen again.

Once you have that info, tell your Mom you have some disappointing news for her - and that you are also disappointed. But that you have looked to see what went wrong and have learned from that so that hopefully you are now stronger than before and it won't happen again, you hope.

Your mom will appreciate the effort you have put into sorting this out and, although she'll be disappointed, I think she'll forgive you or perhaps help you to work through anything else she may know that may be helpful also.

How beautiful that you and your mom care for each other so much.

An understanding mother wouldn't be disappointed. If it's really unlike you, then she will understand you're not perfect. Tell her why you got the bad grade and seek extra credit from the teacher. She will be proud just knowing how much you care.

Sweetie, first off, you need to know that you are HUMAN and even the wisest humans fail at one time or another. Most times it's because they are stressed out or have things on their minds. If you are a good student and I have no doubt that you are, I'm sure your mom will understand. The key is not to get stuck in the path of getting bad grades. Pull yourself together and work harder and always be open with your mom.. ALWAYS. Don't keep things from her!!! You will have friends who come and go in your life, but there can never be any replacement for your moms.

good luck.. be brave.

You say it's unlike you, then what's going on? Are you stressed? Depressed? What's wrong. Just sit your mum down and explain to her what is going on with you and what caused the bad grade. She knows you are a good student and I know she will be understanding and want to help you with whatever problem you have going on. God bless!

Mistakes happen. School is important, but not so important that your mental health should depend on it. So long as it doesn't happen too frequently, you'll be okay- you'll still get a good job (if that is what you want) and people will still respect you. Just learn from your mistakes and then make sure you remember it next time you see the material again. That's basically all you can do- what is done is done.

Change that F into an A or a D into a B. If you got a C then you are screwed, I mean average.

Eric Clapton, Einstein just a couple of brilliant minds that did poorly in school.

High School is just a stairway to other stairways that get you somewhere.

Tell her how disappointed you are about it and that you really tried.
Your mom will love you no matter what- even if she gripes about how you could have done better she will still love you.
But if it comes from you first without her having to ask then it will be easier for her to get past that and help you focus on how to do better.
