A year ago a close friend of mine talked about me to one of my family members. I forgave her for it and I continued to talk to her. However, she continued to talk about me behind my back. I stopped answering her calls and e-mails. However, she doesn't get the hint that I am no longer talking to her. She continues to e-mail and call me even after I stopped responding to her calls and e-mails. Today I received another e-mail from her. It's has been awhile since we last talked. I have mixed feelings about talking to her again. We have been friends for more than 20 years. In the last year or so when I needed her support I felt like she betrayed me by taking my person struggles and talking about me to members of my family not once but twice.

I want to respond to her e-mail by telling her how I feel. However, I don't know if I really want to be her friend again. Should I respond to her e-mail or should I continue to avoid her.

If you dont want to talk to her...reply to the email and tell her how you feel. If you no longer want to be friends with her, tell her that too! She deserves to know why your not responding to her and then be done with it.

Tell her that since you don't trust her, you can't be her friend. She must prove her trust first.
