Well, the official guideline says parental or adult guardian...I don't think you need to be a blood relation, I think that just suggests the underage person needs an adult to accompany them. (Especially if someone is less than 12 months away from the magical threshold of being 17 and able to hear the f-word more than three times in a movie.)

I really doubt a movie theatre would stop you, for one - especially if you are more than old enough to buy the tickets. You're also a legal adult, and not just another 17 year old. So you could argue that you are there as the adult guardian.

And barring that, buy two tickets to 'Happy Feet' and walk into the movie you want to see.

No. You have to be the kid's parent or guardian or at the very least be significantly older than him. Having worked at a movie theater, I would only sell you one R rated ticket and then ID the 16 year old as well.

No, you can't. A few years ago you had to be 18 to accompany i minor into a movie but i tried to the other day and you have to be 21 with a I.D. obviously. the minor has to be over 17 then he/she can get in by themselves

Nope, the 16-yr-old can go with. It'll be ok.
