Modern day Mexicans and Mexican Americans can have all kinds of heritage: Spanish, French, Irish, Native American, German, Dutch, Scottish, British, even Japanese and Chinese! My mother was born and raised in Mexico and is a mixture of Spanish, French, German and Scottish/Irish. We have blondes and redheads in the family.

I know some families that pride themselves on having "pure" Spanish ancestry and, without DNA testing, can't say whether they're right or exaggerating. So what? The day is coming when everyone's going to have a multi-national pedigree.

Why can't there not be any pure Spaniards in Mexico? Mexicans immigrate and so do Spaniards. A lot of Spaniards move to Mexico because they 1) speak the same language, and 2) can make a fortune in Mexico.

Huh? Look there are many people who travel to Mexico, Central America and South America all the time. Many like the easy and relax ways of living there and may stay. In Mexico there are many Spaniards that are purely Spaniards that may have recently moved there for business reasons. It is just like United States but you most people in this country believes they are the only Americans......every one in Canada, United States, Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Bolivia, Venezuela, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay, Brazil, and the small colonies that I just don't remember their names are all Americans, thus we all live in either South, Central or North America!!!

Mexican American.......well just Mexicans in Mexico they are still found in some areas like if you travel to small little towns you will find some people that although they wear casual like us, you can tell they look different: Small, very Dark, and with dialects...in fact some areas they need interpreters for tourists since they don't go to big towns or cities and most of them are farmers or art crafters.

I am from El Salvador but I am 50% Salvadorian, 25% Spaniard, 25% Filipino thanks to my great Grandmother who cheated on her husband!!

A Mexican is a mixture of Spanish, French, German, Dutch, and Native Amerindian. Of course there are no pure Spaniards living there. Unless of course they moved there from Spain but why would they want to leave Spain to go to Mexico? Not even Mexicans want to live there........
