You don't really ask someone to be your friend, you start up a conversation with them and gradually bring yourself in with them. Maybe give them a complement, ask them how they're feeling and whatever really.
You should really look for clubs, any sort really, or take a course and talk to people there, because they're most friendly because their also lookin for friends. Or maybe go to a gym, or anything really. Start talking to people generally, and gradually become friends with them, it's simple.

Well in life, you should get together...it's not like you just ask straight out "Will you be my friend?" just chat with them, get tothether then see if your relationship goes somewhere (I mean in becoming friends of course)
