Go to Oprah's website where you will learn that he never said those comments. In fact, he's never been on Oprah's show. It is an internet hoax. Use common sense -- why would Tommy Hilfiger (or any designer) alienate so many of the people who buy his clothes?
Here is what Oprah says on her site:
"The Truth...
For the record, the rumored event that has circulated on the Internet and by word-of-mouth never happened. Mr. Hilfiger has never appeared on the show. In fact, Oprah has never even met him... "
Certain hoaxes and urban legends are told so many times, our brains trick us into thinking we saw it or heard it or know someone who did, even though it never happened. I know someone who thinks she saw it, too. When we hear something repeated often enough, our minds create an image that becomes part of our memories, even though it is false. You have to use critical thinking - no designer would say such a thing and risk losing so many customers. Certainly, Oprah wouldn't deny it if it actually happened! Come on!
When you hear ridiculous crap like this, don't believe it. Instead, do some research, think about it using LOGIC, and if still in doubt go to snopes.com!
