Mercutio is the decieved one. He is not even a Capulet or a Montague...and yet he dies in their petty squabble. He intercedes to protect Romeo's honor, while Romeo is too love-struck and afraid to offend his new girlfriend to stand up for himself.
He died for the honor of a boy without honor. Romeo could not tell his parents the truth, he could not stand up for himself in the street, he couldn't even tell Juliet that he may one day have to kill her brother. I hurt for Mercutio and his whole part in the plot.

When Juliet takes the potion that puts her to sleep for three days, Romeo believes that she is dead, so he drinks poison and kills himself. Then, she wakes up and notices that he is dead and, seeing as how Romeo drank all the poison, she stabs herself instead. So, it turns out that Juliet decieved Romeo as well as her parents and everyone else who thought she was dead (until they found her body next to Romeo's three days later). In addition, Juliet fooled her parents by secretly running off and eloping with Romeo (before taking the potion).
