Yes, I think e-bay is fairly trustworthy but be sure to check out what other reviewers have said and how many sales the seller has had.
If you don't have a credit card you can register with a debit card with paypal or use a personal cheque - check what the seller's options for payment are as some only accept paypal.

I have been eBaying for about 7 years now. You can join if you don't have a credit card, but in order to sell anything you will have to have a checking account or other payment method on file to pay for listing fees.
If you are just planning on buying, you just sign up for free. Most people want payment with PayPal, but some will allow money orders for payment.
Can you trust it? Well, make sure to check feedback. You learn as you go . . I have been screwed over a few times but that is how you learn. Just be careful.

Yes...you can trust it. Just be sure to check the items you are planning to buy. Ask the seller a lot of inquiries. Ask for more picture if necessary. I have a paypal account with ebay. ALL YOU NEED IS A CHECKING ACCOUNT TO PAY FOR TINGS YOU WANT TO BUY ON EBAY! I am actually thinking about becoming a ebay seller. I have a lot of great stuff.

I have an ebay acct. and no credit cards I got a paypal account for all transactions to go through. It's really easy and they walk you through the instructions.

You can trust it, just make sure you buy from someone who has good feedback.
Use your common sense too! If you see something for £5 that usually costs £200 (e.g. computer software) then don't moan when a copy arrives through the post.
Good luck!
